DeTar Healthcare System is proud to celebrate National Heart Month in February with a series of events aimed at raising awareness, providing educational resources and encouraging heart-healthy habits throughout the community. During the month of February, DeTar is hosting or supporting several events focused on preventing heart disease and stroke, promoting wellness and empowering individuals with knowledge and life-saving skills. The last event planned for the month of February is a Heart Health 101 Lunch and Learn event set for Thursday, February 27.

Thursday, February 27, 2025 | DeTar Hospital Navarro, Education Classroom (Located in the MEDI Center) | 12 p.m. - 1 p.m.
Take the first step toward a healthier heart! Join DeTar for a Heart Health 101 session during Heart Month and learn practical tips for keeping your heart in top shape. Attendees will receive insights on heart health from DeTar Healthcare System cardiac care team leaders and residents of the DeTar Family Medicine Residency Program, tips on living a heart-healthy lifestyle and a delicious, heart-healthy lunch for the first 30 to RSVP.

Why National Heart Month Matters
National Heart Month is an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of heart health, educate the public on the risks of heart disease and stroke, and encourage healthy lifestyle changes.
According to the American Heart Association, heart disease is the No. 1 cause of death in the U.S., but many of its risk factors can be controlled or prevented through lifestyle changes such as maintaining a healthy diet, regular physical activity and not smoking.
