DeTar Healthcare System Raises Awareness for Occupational Therapy Month with Spotlight on Outpatient Services
4/7/2025
April is National Occupational Therapy Month, and DeTar Healthcare System is proud to shine a spotlight on the vital role of occupational therapy in helping individuals regain independence, function, and quality of life, specifically the outpatient occupational therapy team. In recognition of this month, DeTar is raising awareness about the specialized outpatient occupational therapy services available at its Laurent and Springwood locations in Victoria.
DeTar’s outpatient occupational therapists work closely with patients to help them recover from injury, manage chronic conditions, and return to daily activities with confidence. In addition to traditional therapy, DeTar offers advanced, specialized services through certified therapists, including:
- Lymphedema Management – Delivered by Certified Lymphedema Therapists (CLTs), this treatment helps reduce swelling and improve lymphatic function.Hand Therapy – Certified Hand Therapists (CHTs) provide targeted care for injuries and conditions affecting the hands, wrists, and upper extremities.LSVT BIG® Program – A proven therapy approach for individuals with Parkinson’s disease and similar movement disorders to improve mobility and function.Custom Splint Fabrication – Therapists fabricate personalized upper extremity splints to aid recovery, reduce pain, and improve function.
“Our outpatient occupational therapists are an essential part of our rehabilitation team, helping patients regain the ability to perform daily activities that are often taken for granted,” said Jaclyn Adamek, P.T., M.P.T., Director of Rehabilitation Services at DeTar Healthcare System.
“We’re proud of our team’s dedication to creating access to specialized therapy services right here in the Crossroads area—care that patients might otherwise have to travel outside the region to receive. It’s about bringing advanced care close to home and improving quality of life for our community.”
Outpatient OT services at DeTar require a physician referral. Patients must provide a script from their medical provider to initiate care.
