DeTar Healthcare System Partners with Zion Lutheran Church of Mission Valley to Offer Free Stroke and Heart Attack Prevention Class with Hands-On CPR Training

VICTORIA, TX – In honor of National Heart Health Awareness Month, Zion Lutheran Church of Mission Valley will host a Stroke and Heart Attack Prevention Class with Hands-On CPR Training on Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Fellowship Hall (12183 FM 236, Mission Valley). DeTar Healthcare System team members will lead the free community training on this critical, life-saving topic.
This free community class is open to anyone age 10 and older and will focus on teaching life-saving techniques, including hands-only CPR and AED (automated external defibrillator) usage. Participants will learn how to recognize the signs of a stroke or heart attack and how to provide immediate assistance until emergency medical services (EMS) arrive.
A team from DeTar Healthcare System will lead the class, ensuring participants leave with practical knowledge that could save a life in an emergency situation. Please note that this training is not for CPR certification but is designed to empower individuals to act quickly in a crisis.
