Detar Healthcare System Hosts Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive to Fight Hunger

VICTORIA, Texas (March 15, 2024) – DeTar Healthcare System invites community members to join the hospital/health system’s efforts to fight hunger by participating in the second annual Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive benefiting the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent. Peanut butter is a sought after item for food banks because of its high nutritional value and long shelf life. Yet, it is one of the least donated items. The Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive will run through March 25.

“We recognize the impact hunger has on an individual’s health and wellbeing, and we want to help those in our community who are struggling with food insecurity,” said Bernard Leger, CEO, DeTar Healthcare System. .“A large number of people in Victoria are facing food insecurity. Our Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive is a great way to partner with community members to reduce hunger in our area.”

DeTar Hospital Navarro’s Administration office will be accepting donations from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day through March 25th. Other locations with donation bins will include DeTar Hospital North, DeTar Outpatient Rehabilitation Center and DeTar Health and Fitness Center.
